(June 11 - 30, 2010)
Then Matěj returned from Ostrava to Brno where we had to face stark reality again. The people in the Children's Hospital in Brno, Černopolní Street, forgot that Matěj was coming back to them and were not prepared to admit him. With fright, we listed to questions, such as "Where should he actually go?", or "Do you have any medicines for him?" We understood very quickly that for this hospital he was the notorious (and undesirable) "hot potato".
Originally, he should have gone back to the Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Department, but there was not a free bed anymore and they started to solve where to put him shortly before his arrival. Eventually, the "hot potato" was located in Intensive Care Department 46. They wanted to put him in a small bed, only after repeated mother's protests they put him in an adjustable bed.
For unknown reasons, the hospital tried to make our difficult situation even worse. For example, before leaving, the mother wanted to say goodbye to Matěj. The nurse told her that it was impossible, because there was Matěj's grandmother and mother was not allowed. Similarly, when we wanted to film Matěj (our own child!), the personnel established it within two minutes - and prohibitted it. If the attending personnel had been so prompt at the time that Matýsek collapsed on May 1, we undoubtedly would not have to face the problems we have to solve today.
Due to new health problems (accumulation of liquid in the bran), another operation was performed: the so-called shunt, i.e. regulated outlet of excess liquid to the stomach where it is absorbed. Matěj was moved again to Intensive Care Department 10.
